2024 Year in Review
It’s been wonderful seeing my friends and fellow illustrators share their 2024 updates! Here’s mine:
On the professional side, I had the honor of illustrating We Dream a World by Yolanda Renee King, which gained local and national attention. I’m thrilled to see Finding Rebecca by Shani Mahiri King published this fall by Tilbury House. I also had an inspiring time at an artist retreat with the CAT Agency. The highlight of the year was writing and penciling my first board book—can’t wait to share more about this exciting project soon!
On the personal side, I’ve enjoyed beautiful sunrises and sunsets, am grateful for good health, and had a fun birthday in Batuu. I visited friends and family in New England, learned to cut my own hair, and had many successful experiments with semi-healthy desserts! I’ve been enjoying reading for fun again on my Kindle (no more tiny type or heavy books!) and finally made it to the annual Davis Holiday Party. Most joyfully, I married my sweetheart Anthony in an August ceremony in Massachusetts, officiated by his father, the eloquent Dr. George Yancey.
